DUTY OF CARE

Some volunteer roles require criminal history background checks and this will be discussed with you during the interview. UnitingCare covers the cost of all background checks for potential volunteers.
Work restrictions may apply to temporary visas, such as tourist and student visas. These may affect whether the visa holder can engage in volunteer roles.
Volunteers who are currently under the care of a medical practitioner (for physical, emotional or psychological treatment) may be asked to present a medical certificate in order to certify their ability satisfactorily and safely perform their duties.
If you know of any reason, which could include legal, physical or personal restrictions, which would prevent you from competently, and efficiently volunteering in a manner that is safe to yourself, clients, residents, patients, staff and other volunteers you must disclose it as part of this Volunteer Application.

DECLARATION

UnitingCare has insurance to cover you in all aspects of your volunteer involvement including necessary direct travel to and from your voluntary role with UnitingCare (NB: This insurance does not cover your vehicle). However, the following conditions apply:

There are limitations to the insurance coverage for volunteers under the age of 15 years and over 75 years.

Volunteers under 7 years of age and over 95 years of age are not covered by Voluntary Workers Personal Accident Insurance

This Voluntary Workers Personal Accident Insurance does not pay the Medicare Gap.
